Supportive Housing

Supportive Housing is a when people are living in individual apartments located throughout an apartment complex.

"You really see people evolve and come out of their shell and become independent and take pride in what they do. That’s the reason Assistive Technology is so vital to a lot of the people we support."

-Maritza Dell, COO

Supportive Housing

Supportive Housing is when people are living in individual apartments located throughout an apartment complex or a close geographic area. The Supportive Housing Service provides each person with the right amount of supports based on their level of need. This includes an overnight staff located within the complex/area to monitor all the apartments through the use of assistive technology and respond to their needs either in person or through virtual supports (audio and/or video).

As is done for In-Home Support, a series of assessments will be conducted including, but not limited to: an Independent Living Assessment, a Safety Assessment, and an Assistive Technology Assessment. Additional assessments may be done if needed including a Medical Assessment by a Healthcare Coordinator, a Transportation Assessment, and Behavioral/Clinical Assessments.  As with any independent living program at MidState Arc the intent of the program is not to do things for the person, but to encourage them to be as independent as possible and to connect them to the resources needed to enable and encourage them to be as independent as possible.

Philosophy

We have a holistic approach to services.

There is no one answer to the type of support one needs to be successful. It is a group of solutions that includes, but is not limited to, assistive technology, staffing, natural supports and community resources. Transportation and relationships along with social and recreational activities are critical to success and must be built into the service design.

MidState Arc will continue to grow and evolve our services and we look forward to your input and support.
